The iMPROVE project is a Peace Plus‑funded, cross‑border initiative launched in March 2025, running until February 2029. It is a four‑year programme involving ten partners across Northern Ireland, Ireland and Scotland.

The project focuses on the development of care pathways using pharmacogenomics to support personalised prescribing and medication reviews in primary care. iMPROVE aims to optimise prescribing, improve access to care in the community setting, and support primary care services.

The programme draws on Scotland’s expertise in polypharmacy and pharmacogenomics, embedding personalised medicine approaches to support safer prescribing, improved patient outcomes and more effective use of resources. The project is designed to support patient safety and efficiency while strengthening health innovation collaboration across participating regions.

The Medicines Optimisation Innovation Centre (MOIC) leads and co‑develops elements of the programme, including workstreams and data planning, contributing to the delivery of the project’s objectives within Northern Ireland.
