The COMET (COVID-19 MEdicaTion) study was an international study led by researchers in The Netherlands. It was run in the NHSCT with the support of both pharmacy and MOIC staff. This study used routinely collected clinical data from patients hospitalised with COVID-19 to establish if certain medications affected clinical outcomes. The data showed that there was no association between the use of angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors or angiotensin II receptor blockers and the clinical course of COVID. An association was established between Clinical Frailty Scale and mortality 24 months after hospitalisation in adult patients with COVID-19.
